BESL Staff Take Part In Cardiff Rugby Community Foundation Fundraiser

On May 22^nd, several BESL team members took part in a friendly game of padel at Smash Padel in Cardiff, raising money for the Cardiff Rugby Community Foundation. The event was hosted by Sphere Solutions and brought together businesses from across the construction industry for a day of networking, competition, and fundraising.

Around 40 people took part throughout the day, with businesses in attendance including C&P, BECT, Knox & Wells, Aecom, Intelle, Burton Roofing, BESL, Rhomco, McLaren and QDL. Former rugby players Ellis Jenkins, Cory Allen, and Aled Brew also joined the event, helping to make the day a great success.

Representing BESL on the day were Chris Lloyd, Ian Packer, Dave Porter, Darren Thomas, Gavin Waters and Ben Wright.

The Cardiff Rugby Community Foundation is the non-profit charity linked to Cardiff Rugby, supporting communities across the region through a wide range of programmes and initiatives. Working with schools, clubs, and local groups, the Foundation focuses on creating opportunities that encourage education, inclusion, participation, and positive wellbeing for people of all ages.

A fantastic total of £1,350 was raised during the event, with funds helping to support the Foundation’s valuable work and the many programmes they run throughout the community. BESL contributed £300 towards the overall total.

The day was filled with friendly competition, great teamwork, and community spirit, with Tom West from McLaren and former international rugby player Cory Allen crowned overall winners of the tournament.
