Carbon and Construction Ambassadors Visit Fairwater Community Campus

This month, we were delighted to welcome back our Carbon and Construction Ambassadors from Cantonian High School.

Our Construction Ambassadors enjoyed a session with our planner, Ian Jones, who gave an insightful overview of his role, the challenges that can arise in planning, and the pathways into the profession. Ian then challenged the group with a practical planning exercise: scheduling their own shed build. The task proved trickier than expected, and the pupils quickly discovered that planning isn’t as straightforward as it seems.

Following this, our Carbon Ambassadors joined us for their first full session with our Environmental Advisor, Lloyd Stapleton. Lloyd led the group through a quiz to test their knowledge of carbon, followed by an engaging discussion packed with facts and in-depth insights on the topic.

The sessions provided pupils with hands-on learning and a deeper understanding of both construction planning and environmental sustainability, equipping them with knowledge and skills to carry forward into future projects.
